Health orders change the prospects of drugs
The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (Competent Authority) under the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality, has informed the pharmaceutical industry, from now on should be included in the prospects of new drugs to act on their recommendations proper and rational use, with particular emphasis on antibiotics.
The aim, according to the Ministry, "to improve the information offered to prospective citizens." Another aim is to "increase awareness among users of antibiotics, therefore the information should be remembered that these drugs are used to treat bacterial infections, not viral infections like flu or cold. In turn, believe that "it is important to follow the instructions on the dose, the plugs and the duration of treatment prescribed by your doctor."
Similarly, Health reminded that antibiotics should not "or stored and reused," nor throw "down the drain or the garbage," so that "if after antibiotic treatment ends left over is returned to the pharmacy for proper disposal. " This last recommendation is also included in the prospectuses of other drugs, except for hospital use, reminding citizens that packages and medicines no longer required to be deposited in the pharmacy SIGRE point to "protect the environment" .
Since some leaflets may have a newer version after its distribution in the pharmacy channel, Health require all of them include the web address of the competent authority (www.aemps.es). Through this page, the Drug Information Center Authorized (CIMA) offers updated information leaflets, including not only the latest authorized for each drug, but also any other relevant information.
