France sells swine flu vaccines surplus
In the perspective of a global pandemic feared by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Health had asked last summer to 94 million doses of vaccine for a total of 869 million euros, in case it was need a double vaccination, but because one dose is enough, the French government has decided to sell a portion of the stock.
Rescincidas doses were not yet "neither supplied or paid," said the minister, adding he has no regrets at all of the measures taken by the Government and stressed that only last weekend this flu killed eighteen people in particularly persons who had no risk factor.
The minister said it took the decision to terminate the order on the basis of indicators provided by national and international health authorities.
Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, launched on October 21 have been vaccinated some 5 million people in France.
