Faunia welcomes the campaign «Get wet with Hunter»
Faunia theme park of nature, welcomes the Naturscope Gallery, from December 23 until January 12, the exhibition "Get wet with Hunter", an initiative to raise awareness and social awareness of the reality of Hunter syndrome (MPS type II), launched by the Association of Mucopolysaccharidosis and Related Syndromes (MPS Spain), in collaboration with FEDER (Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases), the Zoo Aquarium of Madrid and the United Parks Foundation.
This solidarity campaign revolves around a traveling photo exhibition consists of more than thirty photographs taken during a day of leisure and fun in the Zoo Aquarium of Madrid. Through its characters, eight children affected by AIDS and their families, explained visually, optimistic and positive history of these families living with the disease and fighting every day for not losing hope. These photographs are accompanied by informative pills that explain in clear, simple and closely what exactly Hunter syndrome.
The Association of MPSs is declared of public utility and non-profit organization that was founded in May 2005 fruit of the Association Sanfilippo Spain in 2003, to advise, support and inform families affected by this group of rare diseases.
Formed by a scientific committee, physicians, patients and their families advisers, its objectives are to promote scientific research into the causes, development and therapies for MPS and related syndromes; promote seminars, conferences and public events to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and dissemination of rare diseases; in addition to promoting, as far as possible preventive actions.

Faunia is a zoo has over 3,000 animals of 500 different species that live in 4 ecosystems and 13 thematic areas adapted to their habitat. As a theme park of nature along its 14 hectares of course can be found about 15,000 plant specimens of over 1,000 species.
